The slow cooker is my best friend on most days, makes meals so easy! For the most part that is. Here is one of my favorites lately. I usually modify the recipe to what I have on hand in the cupboard and it is great to freeze and reuse! You can use slow cooker beans and frozen corn instead of canned and it works perfectly!  Might as well cut out the sodium if you can and use my homemade taco seasoning recipe as well!Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Had to share this one with all of you a great shop today!!  Whoot! Whoot! Yeah me, 49% savings :). So you might ask how did I do it and what did I buy?  Of course I quickly went through my coupons (I am lucky enough to remember what I have) and made sure everything was current, then I hit the Safeway site!  Checked out their online flyer and their online coupons this week.  I won’t bore you with my whole purchase but the highlights were: turkey for .99/lb Woolite zero for .84/bottle wraps 50% off (safeway email direct coupon)…

My latest grocery shop was a huge success and I saved 50% on my groceries and I didn’t purchase anything I didn’t need!  Best part is it was so easy so I thought why  not share it with all of you.  I haven’t been actively couponing for very long so I’m not an extreme couponer by any means but I do manage to save a decent amount of money. To get started is easy, at first I used what I call an envelope system and divided by coupons into categories: food, personal and pharmacy, baby and kids, household (toilet paper,…

I’m still here!  I may be a little frazzled around the edges but I seemed to hold it together over the weekend!!  Trying to find a few minutes of free time after a busy weekend with Frank away and then him right back to work.  Funny how there doesn’t seem to be enough time to get some “down time”.  Grab a coffee and sit down for my week 3 a little about me chat. Week 2 was a breeze, the exercise was simple even though I managed to kick it up a notch and fit a workout in each day,…

Not sure about all of you but I’ve always been interested in meditation, just could never find my groove.  I am just so amazed at how the simple act of breathing has so many benefits to all of us and it is something nobody can take away! I have been attempting to meditate and would really like to work my way up to doing it daily for 15-20 minutes.  I am going to add it to my routine over the next week and make sure I’m doing it daily even for 5 minutes and notice the benefits!  What an easy…

While this post is one of my original ones from 2012 and the 1001 days are up I feel accomplished!!  It is amazing to look back and see all of the amazing memories I’ve made along the way.  While I never fully completed the list I still take this as a huge accomplishment. For my 101 things in 1001 days challenge I created these rules: 1.  Tasks must be specific, realistic, and challenging, and feel free to list more than 101 but the idea is to complete the tasks in 1001 days! 2.  Get rid of failure and not completing…
