Time seems to be flying lately, probably because it is the end of school and June always seems to be jam packed with events. I sat down and attempted to write a post on a tip to get your organized this week and thought it would be easier to talk it out so this video was made! Remember I’m still new at this so hang in there, at least I’m not in my pj’s this time! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sTSTa7oj_A Your action steps: Step 1 – Get a big ol’ calendar Step 2 – Put it on the fridge Step 3 – Fill…
Me and my girl, Cheyenne, enjoying the sun after a week of rain!
As I sit back and reflect on all that has taken place since I started this blog as an accountability journal for myself I honestly am amazed and what has come out of it. Back in February, I was lost in the everyday routine and it took everything I had just to stay on top of my family and home life, let alone work. The 90 days have been so much more than just a personal challenge. I’ve made new connections with other busy Mom’s and families out there, and I’ve reconnected with long-lost friends! I’m thankful for all that…
Nothing beats a piping hot bowl of healthy chicken noodle soup with saltines when you’re not feeling good. There is always a feeling of nostalgia as I lift the first spoonful to my mouth. This recipe takes time but makes a homemade chicken broth that will quickly move it to the top of your recipe book this fall.Healthy Chicken Noodle Soup RecipeSoup IngredientsThe difference in flavor between homemade broth and store-bought varieties is undeniable. For best results, use a large stock pot for this recipe. If you do not have one, use a large (6-quart or larger) Dutch oven or…
Wow, you aren’t going to believe this but I am posting my first video!! To top it off I’m in my pyjamas and this was just a trial run because I had no idea what to write on my morning ritual so thought I’d talk it out and do a quick video. I watched it a few times and made notes then was going to redo it but thought how real would that be?! So here I am in my pi’s with no makeup and my hair is a mess talking about me and what I do first thing in…
I had a fun weekend with the kids, always nice for them to spend time in the outdoors and with close friends to learn some valuable responsibility lessons!
Do you find that you dread Mondays? I know that I used to hate getting out of bed and back into reality after the weekend but I have made a few changes and now I welcome Mondays, they’re like a fresh start. My advice is to take 20-30 minutes on Sunday, for me it was on the hammock yesterday enjoying the sun while the kids played. You’ll need a pen and paper or whatever you like making your lists on, your calendar for the week (mine is always up to date on my BlackBerry thanks to Google Calendar), and quiet…
Wow, is all I can say. I can’t believe my 90 days has come and gone, this is the final week for me but it has turned in to so much more than just the challenge for myself. I started the blog as an accountability challenge for myself in order to find some balance in my ordinary crazy, busy life and I hoped that I could help at least one person out there and I have and so much more! I’ve gone from dreading posting my weekly goals – because if you’ve read my early posts I don’t like sharing my…
I thought that I should maybe share some of my favourite things with all of you! If you know me I have a weird sense of humour but am always up for a good time or a good joke! And trust me I have made an ass of myself on numerous occasions but isn’t the best medicine laughter?! I have no idea how I came across across The Ginger Blog Man but all I can say is I don’t regret it! His blog’s tagline is A redhead Irish boy’s adventures in life, love and relocation but it is so much more…
Thanks to BloggyMoms I am bringing you this unique post on The Practically Perfect Princess Book Review. After contacting Jennifer who also happens to be a busy Momma, we had the choice of the digital edition or waiting for the actual book and since Cheyenne has her own iPad I opted for the digital edition which was so easy to load and view! At the time of writing this post on Amazon the Kindle version is only $2.99 how can you go wrong with that?! The pictures are amazing in the book and it is so simple that Cheyenne was able to…
We’ve all read Routines Are A Lot of Work and Let’s Get the Fire Back and now we’re ready for the next step which we can all start today!! Making simple changes in our everyday lives that will help us create a routine that doesn’t seem like work :). We have to start with the question of WHO are we really competing with and WHY do we need this, want that, or have to have? When really we should be in a competition with ourselves – that is an earlier version of ourselves – we choose who we want to be…
I am honestly surprised at all the feedback I’ve received from sharing my little tips on how to stay on top of my ordinary busy life in Routines Are A Lot of Work. It surprises me how a few tips can help a person out so much, that’s what inspired this post! I get caught up with life sometimes whether it be kids, work, family stuff or just the ordinary busy days and forget to think about myself. I find that when my passion for wanting is gone I just stumble through the day and it seems like I am so…
Time is flying by so fast lately and so many good things are happening that I haven’t even had time to set new goals for myself. I guess when life is working perfectly and full of fun and exciting things we forget to challenge ourselves and stick with some of our old routines. I’m not going to lie I’ve had some ups and downs since my last weekly goals were set so I know that I have had challenges and it is nice to appreciate all the good things that have happened too! Looking back at Weeks #9 and #10:…
Finally I can sit down and write about my the cupcakes I attempted and succeeded at making!! At first I was thinking what did I get myself into (if you follow me on Twitter you would of seen my “wish me luck” tweet) and thought I’d be making a second batch of cupcakes. It started like this: I had all the ingredients out and was ready to roll, I woke up at 6 so I could get it done before the party, thinking I would have enough time to quickly make a second batch. I always have to have a…
I am up way too early this morning! Dustin slept in his own bed all night, which is a rare occurrence, Cheyenne slept in her fort, and Frank works tonight so I could of slept in today but fat chance – guess that’s what happens when you’re a Mom! Oh, and I can’t even make a pot of coffee because Dustin decided to smash my coffee pot last night – the terrible 2’s have started…ahhhh!Today is full of getting ready for Cheyenne’s big birthday party this weekend, she’ll be 6!! Man time flies when you have kids. She is getting…
Yesterday marked Dr. visit #1 of the summer for Dustin. It started off as a regular Mom day with Cheyenne home sick from school, Dustin had a bit of a fever, so the day was all about hanging out with the kids! Dustin managed to get himself into a bit of trouble, though, I found him at the table playing with Cheyenne’s iron on bead crafts: Beads, Noses, and 2-year-olds! This was all right, a bit of a mess to clean up, but no big deal, until later… After his nap, he woke up and came out pointing to his…
Wow, another weekend come and gone but we were able to get a lot of family fun and make some new memories together! We were one of the sponsors for the local Bullarama on the weekend so had a few things we needed to do for that and then were able to take the kids and enjoy the event! Sunday was strictly family day we ate breakfast on the deck, played outside, and watched a movie together. Weekends like that make me love my life! You ask how sheep fit in?! Well Cheyenne rode a sheep last year at the…
Saturday already?! Hard to believe it was a week ago that we were in Las Vegas already and I haven’t even posted about our exciting night after skydiving – guess I need to get my butt in gear. This post is a continuation of making healthier choices and being healthier, getting that competitive side in me going to beat Frank! It is hard to make a lot of home-cooked meals and quick nowadays without using a lot of packaged ingredients, that’s why I was so happy to find Epicure! Sorry to all my US readers, I don’t think they ship to…
I sit here in front of the computer today going over my notes, checking the store, watching Dustin, going over my schedule for today and trying to see how I can make this work that much easier and it becomes that much harder. I am a pretty organized person don’t get me wrong, at times it is just organized chaos around here but I always know what’s going on or where to find something so it is easy being in a state of chaos. Sometimes it is just easier to go with the flow instead of trying to change it,…
