When it comes to gift giving I put a lot of thought into finding the perfect gift to match the person I'm shopping for. That's why I'm thrilled to bring you this gift guide for Moms who love to travel! Let's take a peek at a few of my favorite items and what's on my wishlist!
1. Compression Packing Cubes
These are by far my favorite travel items! I can easily pack a week's worth of clothing in my backpack and walk onto the plane, or if you're hitting the road you'll have plenty of room to bring all your shopping bags home. I like the three-pack compression packing cubes from Gonex available on Amazon.
2. Reusable Water Bottle
I have been taking my own water bottle with me for years now and I was thrilled to see airports adding water bottle fountains so you can easily fill your reusable bottle up now. My reusable bottle of choice is S'well bottle because it keeps my liquids cold all day and when you're out exploring in the hot sun a cool beverage is always nice to have.
3. Carry On Backpack
Finding the perfect carry on backpack that works for a weekend getaway or international trip is hard. My new favorite is by Standard Luggage, they offer a carry on backpack that meets all carry on rules and can double as a shoulder bag once you reach your destination. Another feature I love is if you're like me and tend to do a little shopping while away it has an expandable capacity of 35-45L.
Did I mention the awesome feature of ergonomic straps with a padded back and hipstrap? Plus you can hide the straps for a sleeker look if needed. You also have a hidden laptop pocket that contains a neoprene sleeve for added protection and it makes security a breeze at the airport. You can easily use it as a shoulder bag, backpack or suitcase to fit your traveling needs.
4. Sunglasses
Eyewear is always a great gift for Mom and KITS has a wide range of brands and models to very good prices.
5. Skyroam Hotspot
No more worrying about data overages or connecting to shared public wifi. I love my Skyroam Hotspot and take it almost everywhere. It connects to the LTE network and provides a fast, reliable connection that allows you to check your email, social media and update your loved ones on the epic adventure you're on. While the day and month passes are unlimited the only downside is you can't stream your favorite shows using the hotspot.
To save on your purchase use code RLMOM at checkout.
6.Luggage Scale
This one is on my wish list. I have to admit that having expandable luggage sometimes works against me because my bag gets a little heavy. The luggage scale I want doesn't require batteries and is powered by shaking it so you never have to worry about finding batteries while on vacation. I'd love to have a little luggage scale to take along so I know if I'm within checked baggage limits so I can avoid overages on flights home.
7. Picture Keeper
This handy little Picture Keeper device is great to back up the photos on your phone if you aren't able to connect to your laptop or backup online. I've had mine for a few years now and it works just like the day I bought it. You can see my review over at the post: Picture Keeper Connect is Perfect for Busy Families.
A great way to display travel photos is with a Canvas from CanvasOnDemand!
8. Baggallini Foldable Travel Tote
This is one of my favorite items to pack “just in case” I need to check my original luggage and still take a few things on the plane. The foldable travel tote stores neatly in a little clutch and can be easily packed in your luggage. If you do need to use it you can easily fit a week worth of clothes inside, I often use it for an overnight trip with the family because we can all fit a change of clothes and our toiletries inside.
9. Travel Scarf
I find that you can never go wrong with a beautiful scarf, it can double as a blanket if you're cold while traveling or bring an outfit together when added as a simple accessory. A travel scarf with a secret zipper pocket is a must-have for anyone who loves to travel, I'll be purchasing a few before we head to Alaska. I also ordered a Mama Bear hat in a few new colors for the trip!
10. Travel First Aid Kit
From bandaids to upset stomachs, when you travel with your family you have to expect the unexpected. I like to take along a little first aid kit with a few of the essentials so I don't need to make an emergency run to the store in the middle of dinner.
11. Gift Cards!
This might seem silly but if someone is planning a vacation gift cards can really help keep the trip within budget. You can purchase gift cards for almost anything now including hotels, airlines, restaurants, and even attractions like CityPass or a tour through Viator. If all else fails a Visa gift card will do the trick!
A few things I didn't mention were my smartphone because that goes everywhere with me. A few of the travel apps I can't live without are Trip It, Uber and Google Maps.
I hope these 10 gift ideas for Moms who like to travel help you find something perfect for the Mom in your life! I hope your next travel adventure takes you somewhere exciting. Safe travels.
