When we started planning our trip to Puerto Vallarta, we knew we wanted a new and authentic Mexican experience. We chose to stay in the middle of the hotel zone, in the romantic district. We found amazing restaurants, cobblestone streets, cafes, art galleries, boutiques, street food, and the pier only steps away from Playa Los Arcos Hotel.

Our experience at Playa Los Arcos Hotel was amazing the staff was polite and spoke English very well. The rooms were average – we had two beds, a small sitting area, a large bathroom, and a small patio to enjoy. In all honestly we didn't spend much time in our rooms except to sleep so we had more than enough room to relax and enjoy some quiet family time.

All-Inclusive Package at Playa Los Arcos
The all-inclusive package was perfect for us as it was easy for the kids to get the foods they liked and try new things at the same time. There was fresh fruit at every meal with a selection of Mexican dishes. The “American” section had an amazing omelet bar at breakfast all served as a simple buffet in Mi Pueblito Restaurant.
If you stay 7 nights you can enjoy two specialty gourmet dinners in the specialty restaurants – we weren't able to check them out but I'm sure they were just as delicious at the buffet. There were takeaway containers available at the buffet, allowing you to enjoy your meal in your room or on the beach. If you're thirsty during the day Tialoc bar beverage service is open early to late.

Playa Los Arcos Entertainment
For entertainment, they had nightly live music in the restaurant as well as the following shows:
- Monday – Texmex Show
- Wednesday – International Show
- Thursday – Regional Show
- Saturday – Mexican Fiesta Show
If you aren't into live music there are a wealth of things to do just steps away from the resort. We enjoyed an evening pirate ship cruise, a food tour as well as a visit to Aquaventuras Park.

The beach was just steps away from the pool and with the All Inclusive package you receive:
- chairs and umbrellas
- towel service
- recreational activities
If you need a little extra relaxation during the trip the Holistic Spa offers great prices and looks extremely inviting. I wish I had a few extra hours so I could have used their services. While at Playa Los Arcos the Concierge service was accommodating and willing to go above and beyond. They offered everything from tour reservations to Yogoulisous ice cream specials!

Final Thoughts on Playa Los Arcos
This affordable family stay felt safe, the kids were able to find foods they enjoyed and it was clean. Even though we experienced rain during the duration of our stay we had plenty of activities to take part in. When I say rain, there was water up to our ankles as we walked the streets. We did manage to enjoy the pool between rain storms. Be aware that the pool with the waterfall is for adults only, not kids – we learned that the hard way.
If you want a real Mexican experience and to understand the heart of Puerto Vallarta you'll love Playa Los Arcos. You can roam the streets, try authentic food carts and restaurants, and shop the little boutiques. There are many cultural buildings and sculptures to view nearby. I would love to go back take more photos, and enjoy the relaxing lifestyle they offer. My photos do not do the hotel justice since the sun decided not to cooperate.

The location was excellent and allowed us to explore the romantic zone by foot. From site seeing to shopping you won't be disappointed.
