Every so often while we're in Vegas we like to try something new and that usually involves food! There is just something about going out for Sunday brunch and enjoying the company of the person your with to celebrate a new week. Time seems to be flying by this summer so Cheyenne and I decided to head out to Tacos & Tequila to enjoy some mother-daughter time and a little Mariachi!! We got ready together, hopped in the car and headed down to the Luxor in anticipation of the perfect brunch.
Mariachi, Mexican and Margaritas for the Perfect Sunday Brunch
If you're driving to brunch at T&T I recommend valet parking at the main Luxor entrance and then all you have to do is walk through the doors and take the stairs to your right and you'll find the restaurant right at the top! And if you're like us and do brunch around noon I highly recommend making a reservation, T&T was packed!
The hostesses promptly sat us and shortly after chips and salsa arrived! The chips were toasted to perfection and the salsa was delicious and tasted nice and fresh. We could of honestly just snacked on the chips and salsa for lunch but after browsing the menu we knew we had to order a few of our favs and a couple new dishes to try! The fun part about the Mariachi Brunch besides the live band is 2 for 1 Margaritas!! And a specialty of Tacos & Tequila is obviously Tequila so they know how to craft the perfect margarita using agave to sweeten which made the margarita go down smoothly! Take advantage of the 2 for 1 and indulge a little, it is always nice to treat yourself.
Guacamole – avocado, tomato, onion, cilantro and chile serrano make the perfect starter to any meal and easily a favorite of everyone at the table. Don't be deceived by the word starter the serving was more than generous for the two of us.
For lunch I had the signature taco dish Alambre – grilled steak, flour tortilla, bacon, Oaxaca cheese, chile poblano, onion and cilantro with a side of beans and rice! I was sold at bacon in the tacos so had to try this dish. It was more than filling for me I couldn't even finish the whole dish but wish I could of. The tacos melted in your mouth just like candy, yummy!
Cheyenne got a little adventurous because her goal this year is to try new things, she ordered the Chilaquiles – crispy tortillas, chicken, red sauce, panela cheese, crema fresca and onion. Our server who was amazing had warned her it might be a little spicy but she had no problem with the spice in it and managed to eat half the serving because she had to save room for dessert! In my books when she tries something new and eats half of it that is a huge success!
Now for everyone's favorite part DESSERT! We perused the menu while we sipped on our signature drinks and finally came to the decision of the dessert sampler – small bites of Tres Leches (traditional Mexican three-milk cake, passion fruit reduction), Banana Empanadas (Cajeta sauce, coconut sorbet) and Morenita Sundae (chocolate browie, cinnamon ice cream, cajeta sauce, chocolate sauce). All were delicious but we each had our favorites mine was the empanadas and Cheyenne loved the tres leches it was the perfect consistency cake that was just the right amount of sweetness to finish off a spicy meal.

We left with full bellies and happy hearts because we were able to have some quality one on one time that we haven't been able to have in awhile because Dustin has been a little demanding of my time. If you haven't ever taken your kids out solo for a meal I highly recommend it we had a great time surrounded with a great atmosphere and delicious food. Tacos & Tequila would be perfect for the whole family or maybe even a date night while out in Vegas!
You can enjoy the Mariachi Brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 11-3!
