Yesterday marked Dr. visit #1 of the summer for Dustin. It started off as a regular Mom day with Cheyenne home sick from school, Dustin had a bit of a fever, so the day was all about hanging out with the kids! Dustin managed to get himself into a bit of trouble, though, I found him at the table playing with Cheyenne's iron on bead crafts:
Beads, Noses, and 2-year-olds!
This was all right, a bit of a mess to clean up, but no big deal, until later… After his nap, he woke up and came out pointing to his nose and shoving his finger up there and laughing. This isn't normal so I thought I had better check what's up with his nose. I was lucky enough to find a bright green bead in there, shoved so far up his nose that I couldn't get it out. I quickly phoned into the medical clinic and was squeezed in for an emergency appointment. Love living in small towns for simple things like this! On top of that, I am fortunate enough to have some wonderful friends who took Cheyenne for the hour and a bit I was busy getting this bead taken out.
The doctor was able to pull it out with no damage but gave me a warning that Dustin's age and the fact that he's a boy makes this pretty standard and he wouldn't surprise if he sees us again in just a short time. So until next time my advice is to stay calm, get a good laugh, and ask for help when you need it!
Has anyone else had one of these experiences? What did you do?
Enjoy your Wednesday 🙂
