My favorite way to spend Sunday's is with my family! A few cuddles on the couch, a walk and some reading time makes my heart happy. Cheyenne likes to read to us now that she is in the second grade and honestly there is nothing cuter than watching her read to us. I have even caught her and Dustin snuggled up in bed reading a book, so adorable! We were lucky enough to get our hands on some amazing spring picture books from Raincoast Books that we just had to share because we know they'll be favorites in your house too!
Family Friendly Spring Reading with Raincoast Books
First up is Dustin's favorite: Here Comes Destructosaurus! I can't tell you how many times he has wanted to read this book, I guess when you're 3 and there is a dinosaur destroying a town during a temper tantrum you can relate.
Cheyenne's favorite is: I Didn't Do My Homework Because…
. I think she related to it most because she's at that age when they start getting homework at school but she's too busy playing to want to actually sit down and do it. As the excuses get more absurd she laughs harder and harder!
A very close second favorite of Chey's is: Lately Lily: The Adventures of a Travelling Girl
. I think because she can relate to the travels of Lily because Cheyenne is an adventure seeker at heart! She has been on planes, trains, boats but not a camel yet! She has made some new travel goals because of Lily and to me that is exciting because she can relate the book to real life and find a way to bring it to reality for her!
A kid favorite is: Busy Bunny Days: In the Town, On the Farm & At the Port
. There is something special about a seek and find book with a story. Both kids can sit there and find all the hidden gems as we read the book out loud. Busy Bunny Days is a great conversation starter as well because we can all read the book and talk about what went on during the day not only in the life of the Bunny Family but ours too!
The adult favorite in the house: At the Same Moment, Around the World
. Ever since I was a kid I have always been fascinated at the time difference around the world and how we might be going to sleep but somewhere in the world another family is getting up and getting ready for their day. Not only is this book a fun read as you follow the story around the world but it is also educational and engaging for all readers.
I can't say enough about all of these books the illustrations are amazing and the authors have done an excellent job of keeping the kids attention for the whole story! If you are wanting to add some family friendly books to your library any of these are an excellent choice. I hope you found some new books to enjoy with the kids for years to come.
Keep an eye on the blog for more family friendly reads!
