Every car on the market today has child safety locks. This means that the doors of the car can’t be opened from the inside. Instead, children can only get out when parents open the door. This is the best option because little ones love to play with levers and nozzles. They could easily open the door accidentally while you’re driving.
Get The Right Safety Seat
If your child is still tiny, you do need to make sure you have the right safety seat and get it set up properly. The latest safety carseats are built to easily click straight into the car, ensuring they are secure. You should also make sure you know how to safely position the seat. Most now face backward as this is the best way to protect the child. You can get mirrors if you want to make sure you can still keep an eye on the little one when you can’t see them.
Avoid Distractions
You wouldn’t believe what has been shown to severely alter the focus you have while driving. For instance, even playing with the radio channels drops your attention levels significantly. But one of the biggest distractions is using your phone. It’s best to not even use your phone hands-free but texting, in particular, is incredibly dangerous.
