This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Gulf County Florida. All opinions are 100% mine.
I'm always impressed when a destination has everything we're looking for in one place from adventure to undisturbed nature. Gulf County is made up of 244 miles of coastline along and around the Florida panhandle so you have access to kayaking, fishing, hiking, biking bird watching, snorkeling, diving paddleboarding, eco-touring, and boating no more than 15 minutes from any given point in the area.
The best-kept secret of Gulf County is no experience is the same twice because the activities are all nature-based and when nature is allowed to flourish and grow it is always changing for the better.
3 Must See Vacation Spots in Gulf County, Florida
With the prime travel season starting in September and ending in May now is the time to plan the perfect vacation. The 3 must-see vacation spots on my list for Gulf County, Florida include:
Indian Pass
We love picking spots that are uncrowded and ready to explore and that is just what Indian Pass delivers. With miles of secluded, pet-friendly beaches to fishing and crabbing then finishing your day off around a campfire I can't think of a better way to bond with the family and take in everything the area has to offer.
“The Pass” is celebrated most for fishing, lagoon oysters, and an incredible variety of wildlife. Apalachicola Bay flows into the Gulf at the tip of the Indian Pass Peninsula creating a conflux of fresh and saltwater, making it one of the most fertile estuarine areas in the world.
Want to get a little more local? Enjoy the local spots where lagoon oysters are served raw, steamed, and baked. Stop in, grab a beverage, enjoy great food, make new friends, and listen to live music on the porch. Eating where the locals do and enjoying local entertainment is always the best way to enjoy what the destination has to offer.
Shelling at St. Joseph Bay
A vacation with the family isn't complete until we add to our sea shell collection. Taking a walk on the pristine beaches that St. Joseph Bay has to offer or exploring more of the St. Joseph Peninsula Park beachcombing for driftwood, urchins, and shells is a must-do for any vacation! Get lost in the local culture and natural environment on the many trails available in the area.
Take a Ride on the Beach
Owning a pony seems to be every girl's dream but what about riding a horse on the beach? From trail rides to moonlit rides in the soft sands of Cape San Blas adventure is waiting for the whole family! I can see the smiles on the kid's faces as we take a safe and slow ride along the beach, truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Don't want to ride horseback? You can also rent properly equipped golf carts from a local vendor and take a cruise on Cape San Blas and even Indian Pass.
With so much to do and see picking on 3 must-see vacation spots in Gulf County was difficult but if you like some beach combing, a cruise on the beach in a golf cart or horseback, and a little fishing you can easily make an itinerary the whole family will fall in love with.
A vacation where you can enjoy the great outdoors from sunrise to sunset is rewarding in many ways. I love the sound of a vacation to the Gulf County from experiencing small-town feel of waving and talking to those you meet and working for what you eat. I think the beaches are calling my name already!
