I was thrilled to take the Dyson V8 Absolute for a spin because with two dogs in the house and my allergies this season is my least favorite. I vacuum almost daily as we have hardwood with area rugs where the hair and dust seem to accumulate quickly. I’m at the point where my allergies are taking over my life and walking across Lego barefoot sounds like a vacation.
Long story short, you know you’re an adult when you get excited about a new vacuum, and this one packs a few neat features like full machine filtration, longer battery life, hygienic dirt ejector and an extra brush head.

I didn’t think that Dyson could improve, but they keep surprising me! With washable lifetime filters and full machine filtration allergens and bacteria are captured, and cleaner air is released as you vacuum. This is thanks to the patented 2-Tier Radial™ cyclones that capture and retain dust by removing them when they pass through the motor filter.
The problem is also solved by emptying the dirt; you now don’t have to touch it! How awesome is that? I was constantly having to wash my hands from the rash I would get from emptying my previous model and touching the particles. The hygienic dirt ejector does all the work for you all you have to do is pull up on the lever over a trash can and it empties quickly with no fuss.

Clean Floor to Ceiling and Everything in Between
With the doubled battery power in the Dyson V8 Absolute, you now get 40 minutes of fade-free suction and 150% more brush bar power than the V6 cord-free. I now have enough time to vacuum the whole house without having to charge in between, and I’m not worried about killing the battery by using the max power mode on the carpets. The max mode gives you 7 minutes of increased suction power for those difficult tasks.
Finals Thoughts about the Dyson V8 Absolute
What I like most about this Dyson vacuum are the cord-free use and the long battery life, so I don’t have to be strategic about the areas I vacuum. Let’s face it if I have to charge it chances are I’m not going to be vacuuming again that day. The Dyson picks up all the little dog hair our Bluetick Coonhound is shedding all over the place, they are so fine that they stick to everything and are hard to remove from surfaces.
I have a built-in vacuum, but it kills my back trying to fight with the house and switching heads all the time. This machine is just under 6 pounds which makes it lightweight and easy for kids to use too, a bonus for me because now they are thrilled to help vacuum. For my allergies, I am highly impressed with the improvement of the debris disposal.
The only downside is there is no storage bag or bin for the accessories. The machine has a nice docking station to charge that fits the rigid crevice and combination tools but I’m left with a pile of accessories that don’t have a home so tend to go astray.
With an initial cost of $699.99 CAD your allergies with thank you and you’ll be wondering why you didn’t make the investment sooner. The Dyson V8 Absolute has significantly improved my allergies and makes vacuuming the house easier.

This Dyson makes my vac look like a dinosaur, and about as heavy. I sure would love to own one of these!
I would love to try out that soft roller head on my hardwood floors when they are ‘haired up’.
This looks like such an amazing machine! We could use this on our floors and I think it would even get the cat hair that plagues us daily!

The Dyson V8 is really powerful, but I had trouble with the carpets because when I turn on the turbo, the battery drains much faster, so I decided to fix the problem from the source, I started vacuuming the dog directly, it has greatly reduced the amount of hair I find on the carpet which increases the battery life.
I also discovered the Dyson Groom tool which is designed as a special attachment to help you remove as much hair from your pet and the pet even enjoys being groomed. The grooming tool unlike most of the others on the market is easy to clean and easy to attach to the vacuum.
