Its that time of year when the long weekend approaches and you know that school is just around the corner. For me that means a celebration of a little more me time! I also LOVE back to school shopping and the last big adventure to send summer off with a big hurrah! This year summer has been all about adventure and finding our groove as a family. It is the first summer we've had since selling the business and we couldn't be happier with all the adventures, laughs and bonding that has taken place. So what do we have in store for our last summer adventure?
Ready for One Last Summer Adventure #StreamTeam
I've shared a lot of movies from my childhood with the kids this summer when we all needed some downtime. With the great line up on Netflix it was easy to pick old some old favorite that I knew would spark a little adventure in us all! A few of our family adventure favorites have been:
- The Adventures of Tintin
- Journey 2: The Mysterious Island
- Tad: The Lost Explorer
- The Adventures of Mickey Matson and the Copperhead Treasure
- National Treasure
- Labou and the Quest for the Lost Treasure
Which left us planning a big adventure weekend to end summer on a happy note and make the transition into fall. The planning has invovled:
- An adventure hike
- Treasure hunt
- Camping without electronics
- Cheyenne's ultimate “surviving the wilderness” challenge where she's going to set up her tent, light the fire and cook a meal!
- Good old family fun and campfire songs
As we pack up to head out today we can't help but reflect on our travels and experiences throughout the summer. We watched wild herds of bison running through fields, met gunslingers in the Old West and camped in the back of the car. All experiences we wouldn't trade for anything. The best experience is watching the kids develop a taste for adventure and travel. I am one happy Mom!
How do you celebrate the end of summer and start of fall?
