Here it finally is the repurposing/reusing post I've been talking about! We did a makeover on an old makeup table for my daugther when she got her new bed and wanted a more grown up feeling to her room! We had a lot of fun and it was really cheap! The best part for me is I actually did it!!
Supplies:
2 Cans Black Tremclad
.5 metre of old fabric
Stapler
A couple tools – screwdriver and a hammer
Total Makeover Cost $10!
We learned a few things along the way like don't get tremclad on your feet it is one of the hardest things to wash off, we found shaving cream works the best! Surprisingly enough to recover a chair is easy all it took was a regular stapler and a little pressure. Make sure to take apart ALL pieces before painting, makes your job a whole lot easier. And remember to have as much fun as you can!
Painting – pretty self-explanatory, just remember with spray paint you get over spray so watch what's behind it!
Recovering – find some fabric you love and lay it out on the floor, place the seat on it, cut just a little bigger than the seat, fold over the edges, staple on the bottom! Easy peasy.
Assembly – I can never remember how I took stuff apart I should really take some before pictures because I had to redo my re-assembly a few times!
I'd love to hear what you've been up to!
