My family went on holidays this week and I stayed home to catch up on life, cleaning and get ready for our Spring Break vacation. This time alone also gave me some free time to watch some Netflix! I was able to pre-screen the new Netflix Orignal series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt that released today and trust me if you want a good laugh while looking at our crazy world from an outsiders view you'll love it.
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt A Netflix Original
After living in a cult for fifteen years, Kimmy (Ellie Kemper) decides to reclaim her life and start over in New York City. Armed with just a backpack, light-up sneakers, and a couple of way-past-due library books, she’s ready to take on a world she didn’t even think existed anymore. Wide-eyed but resilient, nothing is going to stand in her way. She quickly finds a new job (working for 30 Rock‘s Jane Krakowski), a new roommate (Tituss Burgess, 30 Rock), and a new beginning.

Even though the back story is a little dark it provides the show with a wealth of jokes! What happens when four women are rescued from an underground apocalypse cult? You'll be just as surprised as I was as you watch this new Netflix Original series. Follow Kimmy Schmidt as she finds her way in the world while getting used to the modern-day world. I love how she makes the best out of any situation, like a fear of Velcro, and doesn't let life's little obstacles get in her way.
Each episode is about 30 minutes and is full of laughter and keeps you wanting more. I like how she brings our everyday “problems” to light and makes me realize that we don't need all the fancy things in life and our appearance shouldn't be at the top of our list we should make the most out of every day and not be a victim. Ellie Kemper makes the perfect actress for this series! She fits the role perfectly especially when she is shocked at so many things like plastic surgeons, technology and the world she thought no longer existed.
Kimmy gets to experience the world from many different points of views because of her roommate Titus (Titus Burgess) a broke gay actor trying to make it big in the city and of course her nosy landlord Carol Kane. Working as a nanny for Jacqueline Voorhes (Jane Krakowski) adds a whole new twist to the show and give Kimmy a glimpse into the life of a socialite.
The part that brings the most laughs for me is when Titus talks Kimmie into writing a book called Things People Don't Say Anymore. I'm sure you can imagine all the comedy around that.
For a fun weekend watch you'll love this new series!
