Between new adventures, sunscreen battles, and healthy snacking Summer brings new challenges to parents. I find keeping healthy snacks on hand that we can all eat on the go is a necessity because ice cream and popsicles always look good when the temperature rises.
It can be difficult to come up with exciting toddler-friendly snacks, I love heading to the baby aisle to find snacks that make everyone happy! A few of the things I look for when it comes to snacks are:
- ingredients I can read
- high fiber and protein
- low sugar and salt
- affordable
- good taste
Snacking on the Go with Gerber Lil Beanies
The winner this summer is Gerber Lil Beanies! They're made with navy beans, which are the perfect ingredient for a mild flavor, and provide 2 grams of protein and 1 gram of fiber per serving. They're also GMO-free and contain no artificial flavor, color, or preservatives. With two delicious flavors to choose from – Original and White Cheddar and Broccoli – summer snacks are a lot more tasty and fun.
Snacking on the go is simple with Gerber Lil Beanies! All you need is a lunch kit, water bottle, and a few snack baggies to pack a wholesome snack and head out the door for an afternoon of fun. Another fun tip is to keep a small notepad and crayons in the front pocket of the lunch bag for an easy activity to keep your toddler busy so they don't fall asleep in the car.
What's your toddler's favorite snack?

…why not just give your kid actual beans, instead of junk food with added starch, sugar, salt, and oil? Those are not nutritious at all, unless you believe potato chips are a healthy choice because they contain potatoes. (Actually, given that they are just potatoes/oil/salt, potato chips would be a better choice than the sugared rice flour junk that is “Lil’ Beanies”…)
