We've been getting into the trend of making more things at home from scratch. Not only does it save money but you would be surprised at the amount of sodium in store bought goods as well as preservatives in them. This week I'm sharing my quick and easy homemade peanut butter recipe that will have you wondering why you haven't made it sooner! With only one ingredient this peanut butter is a go to for us, I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Quick and Easy Homemade Peanut Butter
- Peanuts
- Honey (optional for added sweetness)
- Salt (optional)
- Place ingredients in food processor and run for about a minute and scrape down sides if necessary. Then process for another 3-4 minutes or until peanut butter has reached desired consistency.
- If using salted peanuts, you do not need to add any extra salt.
- You can add honey if you want a little extra sweetness. If so, add about 1 teaspoon per cup of peanuts.
I love to use this peanut butter in thai recipes and I've been known to use it a time or two in salad dressing! This peanut butter paired with homemade jam will be a hit at your next family breakfast. My kids prefer it with a little honey in the mixture and then they could eat it all day. My favorite is peanut butter toast dipped in hot chocolate! Perfect way to start the day.
