Organized Transition: 4 Tips For Making Your Move A Breeze

By Kara MastersonMay 20, 2017No Comments3 Mins Read

When it's time to move from one home to another, you might feel somewhat stressed about how to get your belongings packed and how to make sure everything gets from one location to another. Make sure you have a plan of action before moving so that everyone knows what to pack and where to take things when items are moved to the new home. There are a few tips to keep in mind to make moving a breeze so that you can get everything done as quickly and efficiently as possible.

    organized

    Boxes

Make sure you have all of the boxes that you will need for your clothing, kitchen items and other things that need to be packed. Label all of the boxes with the items that are inside and the room that they should go in when you get to the new home. This will make it easier to unload the truck, taking everything to the designated room instead of leaving it in the living room or a central area.

    Talk To The Movers

Boxes and small items are one thing to move, but when it comes to large pieces of furniture, you need to have a plan in place with the moving company. Wheaton World Wide Moving and other companies will want to know exactly what needs to be transported and how heavy it is so that they can make plans with moving devices to make it easier to get things into the truck.

    Out With The Old

Moving is a time when you can get rid of the things that you no longer need. Consider having a yard sale to make extra money to pay for the moving truck or to pay for new items that will make the new home feel like your own. You can also make donations to a shelter or take items to a Goodwill store so that they will go to someone else who can use them.

    Rules And Regulations

If you're moving to an apartment or housing development, you should ask if there are any rules involved with moving your items into the home. Some areas won't allow you to move belongings on the weekends or certain days during the week while others might not allow you to park large trucks on the lawn.

Moving doesn't have to be a chore. It can be an exciting time in your life as you are moving from a smaller home to one that is larger or from an older home to one that is new. Stay organized while packing, and keep in touch with the movers so that the process is as stress-free as possible.
