How to Add Extra Privacy to Your Home for Safety

The warmer temperatures and sunshine make everyone want to spend their time outside in the backyard. Many people want to spend hours in the backyard grilling, playing games, and enjoying the summer months. However, people also want privacy and protection for their homes. You can add extra privacy to your home with these simple tips.

    Add a Classic Wood Fence

Most fences across the country are wooden. It is considered a staple because there are so many different kinds of woods to choose from. You can have as many style choices as you like, ranging from light to dark. They also range in height! It is also considered relatively inexpensive compared to other fencing materials and it will last a long time if you provide routine maintenance. You can even build a wood fancy yourself if you have woodworking knowledge.

Make a Living Fence to Add Extra Privacy to Your Home

Hedges are a great way to add a living fence to your property line. It can also be perfect for you regardless of what height you want it to be depending on your plant choice. It can cost some money to maintain a long hedgerow and it takes time to grow it to the proper height. It also needs continuous maintenance but it can provide plenty of privacy and protection with a modest hedge.

Add Extra Privacy to Your Home

    Plant a Pergola

Pergolas are a great way to add a serene effect to create more privacy and protection for your home. You can fill in the structure’s sides with lattice screening or cross beams and poles. This will enable you to plant climbing greenery which is perfect for a romantic pergola. This will also ensure you have all the privacy you need, though it may take some time for the vines to reach the top of the pergola.

    Install a Security Camera

Adding security cameras to your home can be a great way to improve your privacy. The camera with cloud storage will allow you to look back at motion-activated clips to see if the property is as secure as you believe. It can also deter would-be intruders or other possible trespassers.

    Keep the Landscape Lit

When you keep your landscape lit, you can deter trespassers who do not want to be in the spotlight. It can be a great way to keep people at bay at night. When you use motion-activated lights or have lights that are on a timer, you can prevent possible intruders.

Keeping your home private and secure is a top priority for everyone. Use some of the above techniques to add extra privacy to your home.
