2017 Trends For Your New Nursery

By Friends of Real MommaFebruary 28, 2017No Comments3 Mins Read

If you're expecting a new baby in 2017, then you'll want to pay attention to some of the trends for the year. From crib designs to wallpaper, there will be a few new things that you want to include in the nursery that can make a statement. Some of the colors and designs that you see are a bit brighter than what you would expect with a nursery, giving them a modern and sophisticated look.

2017 Trends For Your New Nursery

    Flowers

This kind of design has been seen for many years in the nursery, but in 2017, flowers take over in size. You'll see large murals on the walls with flowers and 3D designs that bring the flowers out from the wall. Arrangements in pastel colors with darker centers that look like flowers from a garden will also be at the top of the design list for nurseries. Hand painted flowers will also be a trend.

    Outdoor Adventures

For girls and boys, the outdoor adventure trend will be at the top of the list. Walls that are light in color, such as white, beige or pastel blue, will serve as a background. Mountain peaks with birds, arrows and animals will also be at the top of the list of trends. A modern nursery might feature a wall that looks like a mountain setting with the moon in the background and a lake at the forefront. Hot air balloons will also be a part of this theme. There are wallpaper designs and items that blend with the outdoor theme at online companies like The Century House.

    Sweet Designs

One of the things that you can look for in the nursery in 2017 is a sweet design. From candy pictures on the walls to decorations that make you feel like you're in a candy factory, the nursery has reached a sweet space. There are various items such as donut teethers and wallpaper that has ice cream cones. Pictures with donuts and other types of candies and pastries will also be seen in nurseries.

    The Non-Nursery

Instead of making the nursery look like a room for a baby, look at the modern trends for the year. Darker walls, modern dressers and sophisticated details will make the nursery feel more like an older child's room than one for a newborn. This will make it easier to update the room when the child is older.

The nursery is a place where you can relax with the baby. It's the first room that the baby will enjoy and begin to see colors and experience the first events in life. Whether it's a sweet design or one that is a bit more updated, the nursery should be one that matches your personality and that of the baby.
