I have to say this is the easiest way for muscle relief I've found in a long time.  I can reach the middle of my back, my shoulders, and even my lower back with even application.  The only recommendation I have is to use it in a well ventilated area, I first used it in my tiny bathroom without the window open and the fumes got to me quickly!
