    Keeping School Lunches Simple

By Laura CyraNovember 24, 20234 Comments3 Mins Read

It is that time of year again when summer comes to an end and the kids go back to school.  I miss the fun times we’ve had over these past two months and then I begin to wonder how I’m going to pack lunches five times a week, for the rest of the school year.

What is a parent to do?  Balancing good nutrition in the lunch box, and busy schedules with a fun and sensible snack is going to be my biggest challenge.

It is that time of year again when summer comes to an end and the kids go back to school. I miss the fun times we’ve had over these past two months and then I begin to wonder how I’m going to pack lunches five times a week, for the rest of the school year. What is a parent to do? Balancing good nutrition in the lunch box, busy schedules with a fun and sensible snack is going to be my biggest challenge.

For me lunches are all about balance I like to keep it healthy, simple and fun all at the same time.  The school year is hard enough for all of us the last thing I have time for is fighting over what’s actually in the lunch box.

    Keeping School Lunches Simple

Good nutrition in the lunch box

Sandwiches are a necessity in our house with a 6 and 10-year-old we can always find an option they both like.  There is almost nothing you cannot add between two pieces of Nature’s Harvest® Bread that doesn’t automatically become delicious.

With Nature’s Harvest Bread you can be happy you’re putting nutritious whole grains into your family’s lunches.  With no artificial flavors, colors or high-fructose corn syrup and at least 8 grams or more of whole grains in every serving I give it two thumbs up!

Think PB&J fingers BLTs and even DIY lunchables with Entenmann’s® Little Bites™ Snacks for a treat.  I’ve found the best way to keep everything fresh is by using a divided lunch container.

My best tips to make packing lunches quick and easy:

    1. Get the kids involved, they know what they like best
    2. Make it fun, favor finger foods, sandwich cutters, and other simple options
    3. One stop shopping at Walmart for Nature’s Harvest Bread and all the fixings
    4. Options are necessary, the same thing every day will get boring
    5. Treats are a-okay like Entenmann’s Little Bites Snacks
    Little Bites Snacks

Little Bites Snacks come in ten different varieties including a couple of our favorites:

    • Little Bites Chocolate Chip Muffins
    • Little Bites Fudge Brownies
    • Little Bites Party Cakes

These portable, pre-portioned real ingredient snacks are always moist and fresh.  The perfectly portioned pouches are great when you’re always on the go without making a big mess.  The kids give them two big thumbs up for taste and size.

Easy solutions is what back to school is all about!  There is no reason for the kids to get bored by filling their lunch boxes with healthy meals and one of the many varieties of Little Bites Snacks to finish off with something fun and keep your children fueled all day long.

That looks like a great lunch to me! You are right, we need to keep things simple – or else it can get too stressful for a busy family!

Our little one likes simple lunches too; it doesn’t help that she is a majorly picky eater! 😉 We like to keep great products on hand to make lunch prep easy and then in the morning she helps pick out her favorites and pack everything up.
