Taking Advantage of My Alone Time

I have to say I didn't realize how much I would appreciate a quiet, clean house until I was alone for a couple of days.  The boys packed up and headed back to Las Vegas for a week so they could go to the NASCAR events.  I was lucky enough to be given the week at home with my daughter who just happens to go to school all day…  You can probably see where this is going.  I honestly haven't been at home alone with no responsibilities since we sold our business.  I have to say this week has brought me a whole new appreciation for life!

Taking Advantage of My Alone Time

So what did I do this week? Well, the first day I'm not going to lie I had a nap in the middle of the day and enjoyed it.  I cleaned the house and it has stayed clean ever since!  I read a book, caught up on some tv, meditated, watched a movie, had some mother-daughter time, blogged, took a detox bath, visited with my Dad, and just did NOTHING.

I forgot how nice it was to just do nothing and not feel guilty about it.  I've had the opportunity to journal, set goals, create a new vision board, and just be.  It's funny how life changes and gets so busy that we forget the things that really makes our heart happy.  I had to stop and think for a moment and really appreciate being in the moment and ask myself why I don't do this more often and then I was reminded of my New Year Theme – No Excuses.

So my new promise to myself is to take advantage of my alone time, I am going to give myself one day a month where I can do anything I want and not feel bad about it or that I should be doing something else.  Why am I doing this?  Because of the way I feel right now, I can just BE and DO the things I want to do, and I'm happy with that.

So I leave you with one thought:

If you had one day a month to do anything you wanted to do, what would you do?

I can't wait to hear your answers!  Enjoy your weekend 🙂
