When in Las Vegas you have to take in a show or two! I've been lucky enough to attend numerous performances but a Cirque du Soleil is always my favorite! Mystere was one of the first Cirque performances I wen to and they had me hooked after that.
The girls and I chose to see Zarkana. We arrived early and enjoyed a glass of wine in the lounge before we made our way to the theatre to find our seats. Zarkana by Cirque du Soleil is an acrobatic rock experience that blends circus arts with the surreal to create a world where physical virtuosity rubs shoulders with the strange.
Zarkana by Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas
Zark, the ringmaster of an extraordinary circus coming back to life, guides us in an abandoned theatre populated by a motley collection of off-the-wall characters and incomparable acrobats. Among other attractions, he introduces the Mutants, four sirens as sinister as they are fabulous. Zarkana is a visual vortex set in a twisted musical and acrobatic fantasy universe where, little by little, chaos and craziness give way to a true celebration.
I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the show! The costumes had a modern twist on the 1920s and 1930s and with 250 costumes for the entire show, I'm sure the designer had a lot of fun creating them. Every detail is thought out when creating the show and designing the costumes and sets.
Did you know that red and pink were chosen as a sign of love and passion?
If you look closely you would have noticed the reds and pinks of roses play a particularly significant symbolic role in the show, representing the love and passion between Zark and Lia – the only characters dressed predominantly in red. There truly is a deeper meaning behind everything.
ARIA Resort & Casino is the perfect setting for this one of a kind show. You'll be on the edge of your seat with this entertaining show that takes you into the lives of the circus performers! I believe any seat in the audience is a good seat. If you sit in a lower section the seats are like couches and more comfortable but the view is all the same!
Show Schedule (be sure to check the actual site for changes):
