We hit the road for adventure to cover seven states and over 600 miles in one trip as we made our way down from Eureka, MT to Las Vegas, NV. Last year when we made this trip but on a different route I can't tell you how many times I heard “I'm bored”. Those two words are enough to drive a Mom crazy! So this time I decided to do things a little differently and have options for those times they decide to say those dreaded words.
The best way I know to keep kids busy and sneak in a little education is with books.

The Where's Waldo books are a guaranteed boredom buster with Cheyenne and Dustin, they can spend hours flipping through the pages and finding him and the clues he leaves behind. As for me I love unwinding at night and losing myself in a book, there is no better feeling.
I don't know if any of you have tweens but Cheyenne is at that age where everything is so boring or she can't do it because it isn't cool. That's why I picked the Nancy Drew and the Clue Crew books for her, that way she can grab a book find a nook (or hide under the blanket in the car) and read until her heart is content. She went through one book in almost a day she said she loves helping solve the mystery along with Nancy Drew!
