As you know from previous years I'm not a fan of New Year's Resolutions. There isn't one main reason but I find that a resolution usually hold unreal expectations and usually doesn't become a habit. It isn't that I don't have goals for myself because trust me I do, I have lots! Last year I decided that No Excuses was a great fit for me and it held me accountable to live simply and have more fun. This year I decided to have a little more fun and I'm going with the theme Celebrate! I have so much to be thankful for each and everyday that sometimes a little reminder to celebrate everyday is needed.
My Theme for 2015 – Celebrate!
Time flew by last year but I was always reminded to have no excuses so this year will be a lot of fun. A few of the things I did to get out of my comfort zone last year were:
- Driving to Las Vegas with the kids (18 hour road trip)
- Spring Break vacation with just Frank and the kids exploring the Washington State Coast
- Solo traveling – Charlotte NC, Washington DC, Taste Washington and Montgomery AL
- Getting more organized – birthday printable, meal planning, monthly calendar, and 52-week savings challenge
- Saying yes to having more fun
I have to say that there were a lot of new adventures, mistakes, and learning experiences waiting for me this year. Everything happens for a reason and I wouldn't be the person I am today without living through my experiences. I believe that without mistakes we will never learn to grow stronger and be unstoppable. You are what you believe you are. I can tell you I won't ever make the same mistake twice but I will apologize, learn and move on. Living with regrets and fearing the future will never allow you to grow as an individual. Be strong, stand on your own two feet, and CELEBRATE!
We have so much to be thankful for every day!
