Six Things to Get Your Highshooler

By Friends of Real MommaDecember 14, 20234 Comments3 Mins Read
Facebook Twitter Pinterest LinkedIn Tumblr Email

As a mom, having a high schooler is… let’s just say an experience. Blaming it on the age, buying gifts for them can be quite the task.

While the most important of all is to not give up and find the perfect gift for them, let’s go over the six things that are often missed by mommas.

So, let’s go over what you buy for your high schooler and be the cool mom on the block.

Privacy and Safety in the Teenage World

Kicking things off is a cool backpack.

We are not talking about the basic, boring backpack most high school students have. What we have in mind is instead of getting them something for kids, go buy them a cool men’s backpack.

Instead of what most kids wear, having a leather backpack with exposed zippers is cool, and most of the time it will be of more use as men’s backpacks are better built and are more functional for day-to-day activities.

And while we’re on the topic of fashion and looking good…

Get them a nice pair of sneakers.

Sneakers are cool. Lately with so many new models dropping by major brands, getting them a cool pair of Air Forces or Adidas is an awesome thing they’ll love.

Make sure you know their shoe size, so as not to get them something that won’t fit. Think of sneakers as the best part of their outfit – they’d want something cool because of that. And something cool is…

Getting them a new pair of AirPods.

Yup, a bit on the pricier side, but your high schooler will love you forever if you surprise them with a pair of AirPods out of thin air.

Can you think of a teen who doesn’t enjoy listening to music all the time?

Even if they aren’t AirPods, you can get them wireless earbuds, which is still cool. Most brands have good quality earbuds anyway.

And while we’re on the pricier and tech-related items on the list:

Why don’t you get them a Macbook?

Very expensive, yes, but most Apple laptops are known to last for ten or more years without any major problems going on. This means that you’re pretty much making a long-term investment in an item that they can use through college.

Either the Pro or the Lite version, but keep in mind the Pro version can be a door to get them interested in programs like Photoshop and video editing. Done with the expensive things on the list, promise!

Get them a cool pair of sunglasses.

Eyewear is a way for one to share their personality through accessories, so getting them a pair of mid to high-quality sunglasses is a great way to let them show their real style.

    Bonus: A nice hoodie.

Yup, it’s kind of a sentimental gift, but cool hoodies are useful and a versatile gift idea and they’re almost 100% sure to like them. They’re comfy, can be worn anywhere and they’re the best fool-proof gift you can surprise them with.

So, you have a few options above, what are you waiting for? Go and get them something, and remember that the price doesn’t matter, it’s about the gesture.
