Simple Tips to Help Get Your Child’s Wardrobe Ready for Back to School

Summer vacation is something that all kids look forward to. It’s also something that lots of parents prepare for in advance especially when it comes to your child's wardrobe. With all the planning and anticipation involved, it often comes as a rather shocking surprise at just how fast the time flies by. Now with back to school literally looming right around the corner, it’s time to take stock and get ready.

Plenty of attention is paid to back-to-school supplies such as a backpack, lunch bags, notebooks, and pens, but what about their wardrobe? Chances are the clothes they were wearing last school year are either verging on being too small or have seen better days. Here are some simple tips you can use to get your child’s wardrobe back to school ready without any stress on your part.

Get Your Childs Wardrobe Ready for Back to School

Take Stock of Your Child's Wardrobe

The first step you’ll want to take is to go through their current clothes, including footwear, and determine what fits and what doesn’t. By doing this, you’ll have a much better idea of how much you need to buy. With most schools requiring that kids have indoor and outdoor shoes, you’ll also want them to try on their current shoes.

    Print Out a Wardrobe Planner

The next step can be to print out a free wardrobe planner, which can readily be found online. Look for a list that allows you to check off whether you have the item, need to buy it, or need to make it (if you're the sewing type). It would also be a good idea if you could add in quantities so you can keep track of how many of each you’ve got.

Set Aside Time to Get the Shopping Done

Because summer vacation tends to be so busy, it’s a good idea to set aside some designated time to shop for the clothing they need. It’s a good idea to start doing the shopping as much as one month in advance of back to school. Typically, you can find a variety of back-to-school sales that occur in the weeks before the first day, which gives you a chance to take advantage of some great deals.

If you're the type that dreads the crowds, you could consider online shopping. Usually, this gives you more options where selection, sizing, and pricing are concerned. Online stores sell a selection of high-quality, fashionable clothing for kids. If you choose to shop online, you won’t have to set aside a block of time, as you can fit it in any time of the day or night.

It Doesn’t Have to Be a Stressful Process

Getting the kids’ wardrobes ready for back to school doesn’t have to be an overly stressful and time-consuming process as long as you take the time to organize and figure out exactly what it is they need.
