Seven Easy Ways You Can Get Healthier

    Drink More Water

First and foremost, let’s face it: none of us drink as much water as we should. The moment you feel thirsty, chances are you’re already dehydrated! Make sure that you buy a reusable water bottle (buying disposable plastic water bottles isn’t good for the environment) and a water filter that you can keep in your fridge so that you can drink delicious ice-cold water whenever you like. You’ll find that your skin is brighter and smoother and that you feel instantly more energetic.

    Start Moving

One of the easiest ways to stay fit and healthy is by making sure that you stay active and that you move around as much as you can. Even if you have chronic pain, make sure that you take a gentle walk as often as you can – this will help to alleviate backache and any other pains and twinges that you might be experiencing. If you want to get more limber then why not try out some easy yoga poses at home? It’s a very calming form of exercise that will help you improve your flexibility, core strength, and balance.

    Change Your Sleeping Habits

A lot of us simply don’t sleep as well as we’d like to, for hundreds of different reasons. If you’re having some issues sleeping, there are a few things that you can change. First of all, make sure that your bed is used only for sleeping and sex – if you’re a freelancer and you tend to work in bed, stop that immediately! If you’re a worrier, write down the problems you’re having and the things you’re worried about before you go to bed, to get them out of your head. Finally, invest in some blackout blinds that will stop the morning sun from waking you up.

Protect Your Skin From The Sun

There’s nothing that will age your skin as quickly as sun damage. A lot of people think that you only need to wear sunscreen in the summer but the truth is that the winter sun can harm your skin as well – keep slapping on sunscreen underneath your makeup all year long, as well as putting it on your neck, décolletage and the backs of your hands. Wear a wide-brimmed hat in the summer to protect your face and the top of your head from the sun, and if you notice that any of your moles have changed in size, texture, or color, make an appointment with a doctor.

    Quit Smoking

Quitting smoking is one of the hardest things anyone can do but it’s also one of the most important. Smoking can cause all kinds of diseases from emphysema to lung cancer to exacerbating medical conditions like asthma and making it far worse. It can also stain your fingers and teeth yellow, and leaves a distinct reek of cigarette smoke inside your home and on all your possessions. You might think you don’t smell of smoke, but everyone else probably disagrees! If you want to quit smoking which are a whole lot better for you – you could also try nicotine gum and patches, along with hypnosis. After you quit, you’ll soon find yourself coughing less and less short of breath.

    Improve Your Dental Hygiene

Anyone who’s had a toothache will be able to tell you that it’s absolutely one of the worst pains that you can suffer from. Make sure that you brush your teeth twice a day and ensure that you regularly floss as well so that you remove all plaque from between your teeth – plaque is a thin film that builds up on your teeth during the day and reacts with the food you eat to cause your tooth enamel to wear down and therefore tooth decay. You should also make sure that you cut down on sugary food like candy and soda.

    Eat In Moderation

If you want to eat more healthily, don’t think about cutting out any food groups completely. Living without carbohydrates or sugar for your entire life just doesn’t seem like a particularly fun way to live! Instead, cut down on your portion sizes – instead of eating a whole bag of candy, eat a small amount. If you love pasta, halve your portion and eat a grilled chicken breast as well for some protein. The key to healthy eating is to make sure that you don’t stuff yourself and that you make sure that you take joy in what you’re putting into your body.
