Pools are a common backyard selling feature for a house. They can be great places to entertain the kids and guests, but they also have hidden dangers. Children are especially susceptible to drowning because many cannot swim. If a child were to fall into the pool accidentally, the outcome could be catastrophic. The easiest way to make pools safer is to apply a cover that can be removed only when it is in use, and when an adult is nearby. Another easy idea would be to add a fence with a locked gate. These things prevent children from having access to the pool or water when you aren’t around to supervise.

The number one tip is to make sure your grill is far enough away from the side or back of the house, and also far enough away from anything potentially flammable. The adult in charge should be near the grill at all times, never leaving it unattended for children or pets to get too close. The lid should be left closed when at all possible to contain the heat and flames even better.
