When you think of winter you might think about cold weather, holidays, hot cocoa and staying indoors. While staying indoors is always a nice way to spend time with the kids, there are other fun ways to enjoy winter. My favorite is playing in the snow! There are so many fun activities you can do with the kids during the winter months.
Family Fun Winter Activities
Go to a Snow Park: If you live close to the snow then chances are there is a local snow park. Snow parks are great for adults and children! You can spend the day sledding down hills, making snow angels and snowmen. Going to a snow park is very affordable and makes a great winter day outing.
Find the Perfect Christmas Tree: A fun family activity is cutting down your own Christmas tree. Kids will get a kick out of picking and helping to cut down their Christmas tree. This activity might even be a tradition your children carry on when they have a family of their own.
Go Ice Skating: Ice skating is a lot of fun even if you don't know how to skate. Look for an outdoor ice skating rink in your area and take the family out for a night of ice skating under the stars.
Make Crafts: If the weather is nasty and you don't want to go outdoors, stay in and make some crafts. You can turn these crafts into gifts for friends and family. Most children love being able to make a loved one a special gift. Our latest craft was the DIY glitter candle holders.
