Every Little Girl Has a Dream #HotHolidayToys

Every little girl has a dream.  To have the perfect hair, the perfect clothes, the cutest boyfriend, to get married and to live in a dream home.  And for me that all came true.

I remember when I was a girl playing with my [easyazon_link keywords=”Barbie dolls” locale=”US” tag=”reamom0b-20″]Barbie dolls[/easyazon_link] and using them to act out my life like I imagined it would be.  Cruising in a jeep, meeting up with friends, going to the beach and having sweet dreams with my closet and perfect mansion.  Little did I know that acting it all out would one day make it reality.

Every Little Girl Has a Dream #HotHolidayToys

I’m not saying that I am Barbie, trust me I would never want to be that skinny.  But I do have a perfect husband, the cutest kids, and a house I can call home.  I didn’t realize that until my daughter started playing with barbies and asking me to join in on her fun.  I am lucky enough that my Mother kept all the dolls from way back when I was a kid.  I can remember the scenarios my sister and I played over and over again.  The funny thing is back when I was a kid there was only one male Barbie and that was ken.  Now there is a whole new world of male barbies.  But back to my creative thinking…

I was able to remember a whole world that I thought I left behind.  Those memories of playing barbies with my sister came floating back and I can’t help but smile when I reminded of them.  So I encourage my daughter to do the same! Be creative.  Be fun.  Love life because anything is possible.

Thinking back I now know that those moments are ones that I can never recreate so taking the time to roll play with Cheyenne and let her creative juices flow are priceless.

Another thing I didn’t realize is the movies!  I have to honestly say that the movies are entertaining and I can actually sit through them, which says a lot after all the children's movies out nowadays.  Whether you have Merliah from Barbie in a mermaid tale or [easyazon_link keywords=”Mariposa in Barbie™” locale=”US” tag=”reamom0b-20″]Mariposa in Barbie™[/easyazon_link]: [easyazon_link identifier=”B00E66CALG” locale=”US” tag=”reamom0b-20″]Mariposa and the Fairy Princess[/easyazon_link] it inspires independent creative thinking in kids.

I wonder what my life would have been like without the creative play and putting thoughts into action.  Would I be who I am today?  Would I be able to set goals, dream of a future and celebrate in the better creation of who I am today?

It is hard to believe that goal planning and future dreaming all started at such a young age, our minds are a powerful tool.

Encourage creative play with your kids and help them create a life they want to have in the future.  Using their imagination is a powerful tool they’ll need throughout their lives so it is important to foster that at a young age.  After all there is no right or wrong when it comes to imagination!
