Time has flown by since I was in Charlotte, NC in October, it is just over a month ago since I boarded the plane and headed on a solo getaway to refresh and recharge. I was pleasantly surprised at what Charlotte had to offer and I can honestly say I can't wait to go back! Getting away by myself doesn't happen often so when it does I like to soak up every minute of it. I landed in Charlotte late on a Saturday night grabbed an Uber to the Hampton Inn Charlotte Uptown and enjoyed the comfort of a huge jacuzzi tub where I could peruse the Charlotte visitor's info and king-sized bed all to myself! Really could my getaway get any better?

Charlotte NC ~ A Good Place to Getaway
After waking up well rested on Sunday I knew I wanted to head out and explore Uptown Charlotte! I had no set plans all I knew was the hotel was located a block away from the NASCAR Hall of Fame and was within walking distance to everything the Queen City has to offer. I indulged in a silent breakfast the hotel offers all the guests, I say silent because I grabbed a few things and headed to my room where I could enjoy the company of myself! I got ready, put on my walking shoes, left my luggage at the front desk and headed out for a solo adventure!

A few of the things I noticed Charlotte had to offer are:
- Wells Fargo History Museum (Admission is free)
- Children’s Theatre of Charlotte
- NASCAR Hall of Fame
- Discovery Place – Check out the latest exhibit, Dinosaurs in Motion, amazing!
- The Mint Museum Uptown (Admission is free for children)

First stop was to find me some Starbucks coffee, luckily there were a few within walking distance so I set my sites on one and headed out. Little did I know that I would get sidetracked with all the history, amazing churches and parks throughout Uptown. Walking is the best way to take in all the sites, see what the locals do and find the hidden gems within the city.

I grabbed myself a coffee and got lost listening to the beautiful singing coming from the open doors of churches, follow the paths in the park and watching the waterfall as I sat there enjoying the company of myself!
Stay tuned there is more to come on my solo getaway to Charlotte!
