Wow is all I can say. With two young kids in the house, the past few days have been a huge blur; the Christmas season is truly a busy, crazy time! Have you used any of my keeping sane with useful pointers? I know I've had to take a few time outs so I can get my head back on and stop being in a state of panic. Honestly, I don't know what it is the house full of people or just the chaos of the season, but I feel like I've lost my mind a few times in the past week. This year was pretty mellow compared to the last few for me, though.
I've taken my advice and planned out meals, grocery shopping, and taken care of the cleaning before everyone arrived. I am also AMAZING at delegating, trust me if there is something someone can be doing I will find them a job, so I don't have to do it, haha. My Type A personality always seems to shine through, maybe it is just the best of me ;).
The kids were a lot of fun this year opening presents and visiting which was great. I didn't know what to expect with Dustin being three now, but he was so cute and patient it was unbelievable. We celebrate our family Christmas on the 24th, so we throw some appies on the table pour some drinks and start opening our presents! I have to say this year if you blinked you missed a good portion of the present opening there was paper flying, boxes being opened, instructions thrown and laughter all over. The kids love this and spend a good part of the night playing with all their fun new gifts but still get to bed early for the arrival of Santa!
This was the first Christmas we had since selling the business, and I have to say I was happy not having to worry about checking temperatures of the coolers, taking food out to prep or doing payroll. Life is indeed full of surprises and the more we realize what we want and focus on the positive more shows up in our lives! I have the feeling that the end of 2013 and beginning of 2014 will be full of many wonderful surprises and positive changes in our lives.
Cheers to a Happy and Safe Holiday Season!
