If you prepare your child lunch then you know how hard it can be to come with creative lunch idea's. Personally, I wouldn't want to eat the same sandwich every day. I've came up with different lunch ideas that I believe are kid friendly and will add some variety to the daily school lunch. Having an easy list of go to lunches will help you plan for grocery shopping and allow for easy morning prep.
Back to School Lunch Ideas
Tortilla Wraps: You can get really creative with tortilla wraps! You can make the wrap to fit your child's likes and dislikes. I usually go for the pinwheel approach for something new and eye appealing. You can get creative and mix up different kinds of meat and cheeses with some cucumbers and maybe even spinach!
Soups: Putting a warm soup in a thermos is a nice way to warm up your child on a cold winter day. Putting the soup in a thermos will help to keep it nice and warm for lunch. My favorite part of soup it is a good way to use up leftovers! Throw some soda crackers or goldfish in the lunch kid to add a little crunch and it will be a nice change to a regular boxed lunch!
Bento Boxes: Bento boxes are all the rave right now and for good reason. You can really let your imagination run wild and send you son or daughter off with a healthy box of yummy food. Basically you use a divided container and fit in all the food groups, the kids will have fun picking their grains, fruits, veggies, dairy and protein.
Snacks:
- Fruits and veggies with dip
- Yogurt covered grapes
- Hummus
- Hard-boiled eggs
- Ants on a log (celery filled with peanut butter and raisins on top!)
