If you know me you know I LOVE wine, to me love isn't a strong enough word but I couldn't think of another word that would describe my relationship with it! I decided to bring you some wine love on Wednesday just because I can! I figure a little wine education is always a bit of fun!
For my first pick I thought I would share with you one of my new favorites that has become a staple at home and for giving as a gift to my girlfriends who have an open mind! My husband almost brought this wine home for me but wasn't sure how I would react, I will let you be the judge of that!
A Wine Made for Me – Wine Wednesday
Wine: Bitch (2008)
Variety: Grenache (pronounced gren-aash)
From: South Australia
Fleshy and round, with tons of jammy strawberry and raspberry fruit, this is neither shy nor light in the alcohol department, but it's so darn hard to bitch about the heat, when there is so much lip-smackingly good fruit!
So what exactly is a grenache wine? Well it is red wine that is characteristically low in tannins (the diverse group of chemical compounds in wine that can affect the color, aging ability and texture of the wine) with a dark, fruity flavor that pairs well with most foods. Thank you wikipedia! I am not a wine expert, so I will not even try to go into the details that the professionals do. I can tell you what I like though and what I've learned along the way from numerous wine tours!
The first thing you are supposed to do the look and smell test before tasting! Bitch has a nice brick red color with some pink hues and the smell is like a delicious jam with a hint of cinnamon. Taste? Well that's simple – smooth and bold with a hint of fruity flavor.
Food pairing? I have to say wine goes with almost everything especially popcorn ;). But if you are looking to get the full flavor assets out of the wine pair this one with poultry or mild cheeses such as Gouda, Jarlsberg, milder Fontina and mild cheddars! Or try it with my pork tenderloin recipe, delish!
So why did I choose Bitch wine? Well it is a mid-priced bottle, I prefer red wine especially from Austrailia, and the name made me have to grab it off the shelf. I have to tell you I'm happy I did!
If you're going to drink, drink responsibly!

I agree we can all use more wine!! I’m so happy to have you here. I’ve been without a computer for a couple days so I’m doing all my catch up now. I can’t imagine a life without wine and the Internet. Ahhh!
