It seems like this summer was a blur between having fun outdoors, a family road trip and now getting organized for back to school. I have to admit our three-week road trip left me with a tower of laundry and lots of chores to catch up on around the house. With the rain rolling in and the sun hiding behind the clouds we've had a few indoor days this past week and I'll admit Netflix has come to the rescue a few times!
I honestly don't pay much attention to what Dustin watches, I'm confident that with the kid setting on his user he'll be able to make appropriate choices. He was pleasantly surprised to see a couple new shows on his list when we got home including DinoTrux! Grab your snacks you're going to love this new Netflix Original!
DinoTrux is a Netflix original series from DreamWorks. What I didn't know is the show is based on the award-winning children’s book series by Chris Gall! I love when I can incorporate some of his favorite things with reading so this series is a big win for me! With the giant creatures that are half dinosaur, half construction vehicle Dustin is in love because it they are two of his favorite things in one!
DinoTrux features hybrid dinosaur/construction vehicle characters, and follows the larger-than-life adventures of two unlikely best friends, Ty Trux, a massive Tyrannosaurus Trux, and his tiny friend Revvit, a razor-smart Reptool. Together, the Dinotrux and Reptools unite to defend their new community against D-Structs, the biggest and baddest Dinotrux of them all, who threatens to destroy everything they’ve built.
Follow along on the journey with 10 new episodes streaming on Netlix now!
This is one of the shows that will keep his attention long enough for him to relax and actually sit still for a couple minutes. A few of Dustin's other recommendation are:
- Bubble Guppies (only available until Sept 22)
- Scooby-Doo (any of the movies or cartoon episodes)
- Turbo, another Netflix Original
- Pinky Dinky Doo
- Peg & Cat
When it comes to Netflix Dustin is influenced by his sister as well who is into the more tween shows. They can always find something they both like to watch together which makes rainy day entertaining easy! I'm a big fan of the Netflix Originals and am always excited when they release a new series or more episodes.
