I don't know about you but I love buying gifts especially for babies!  That's why when I found this cute VTech Touch and Swipe Baby Phone I knew it would be a perfect addition to a newborn baby basket.  I love spoiling new Mom's and babies and usually put together a basket full of toys and essentials to take to the baby shower and this phone makes the perfect gift because baby can mimic their parents.

Just like a real phone this toy has an interactive touchscreen with twelve play apps that include a calendar app, a clock app and even a weather app. The home button can be programmed with a home or mobile phone number, so that children can learn to “phone home”. Children can also use the swipe button to change the phone on to its music mode and enjoy educational and fun sing-a-long songs and melodies.

Features of the VTech Touch and Swipe Baby Phone

  • 12 pretend apps
  • 15 songs and melodies

Is the VTech Touch and Swipe Baby Phone Worth Buying?

The VTech Touch and Swipe Baby Phone is extremely engaging and the interactive touchscreen helps children learn how to entertain themselves. The lights are music are fun and inviting.

One of the most popular aspects of the VTech Touch and Swipe Phone is phone home feature. Parents can save their home or mobile phone number in the baby phone, and when the child presses the home button, the phone will “call” the number saved. This is a brilliant way of introducing children to the concept of phoning their parents – something that children need to learn younger and younger these days. The phone is not heavy on batteries, which is a pleasant surprise considering its functionality.

If you have a teething kidlet at home this can affect the touchscreen capabilities.  The VTech Touch and Swipe Phone is not designed waterproof so the use of the touchscreen won't stand up to all the chewing and drooling which is a little dissapointing considering the age group it is intended for.

All things considered, the VTech Touch and Swipe Baby Phone offers good value for the under $15 price tag.

Children will love it, and provided it stays drool-free, it will become a regular feature of play time.
