Simply put life is CRAZY! If I'm not running one kid to school or an activity I'm trying to clean up after a busy four-year-old. Then there is feeding everyone while trying to make healthy choices. Being a Mom is sometimes a never-ending give and take battle. I've found a way to make my mornings easier and give everyone the extra energy they need to take on a busy day.
For the kids having yogurt on hand makes breakfast easy, just keep it on a shelf they can reach in the fridge. For the adults I like to make overnight oats and by using Silk Dairy-Free I'm able to make them dairy and gluten free!
It's simple grab a mason jar or container and layer:
- 1/3 cup gluten free oats with 1/3 cup your favorite Silk Milk or water
- 1 tsp chia seeds
- 1 container Silk Dairy-Free Yogurt alternative
- 1/3 cup of your favorite fruit
I make a few on Sunday so we have them throughout the week, they also make a great snack! I usually have to make more during the middle of the week as well. You can't go wrong with something this healthy You can always mix things up with the bold and yummy flavors of Silk Dairy-Free Yogurt alternative that include:
- Black Cherry
- Tropical Pineapple
- Peach & Mango
I can't wait to try the vanilla with some cinnamon and apples! Delish.
Just remember to slow things down in the morning and simplify. I like to do as much as I can the night before like packing lunches, signing permission slips, and getting any special things ready for the day so there are no surprises in the morning. Having breakfast taken care of has also taken a lot of the rush out of first thing in the morning. All it takes are a few simple changes to have you feeling organized and on top of things! What a great way to start the day.
